On May 2, Dr. Tony Hollingsworth, UNMC pancreatic cancer researcher, hosted a Summit on Collaborative Studies of Pancreatic Research. Project Purple, founded by Dino Verelli, raises awareness and funds toward a cure for pancreatic cancer, co-sponsored the event.

The event featured 17 speakers discussing collaborative projects in pancreatic cancer, including Surinder Batra, PhD, professor and chair of the UNMC Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. For a complete list of speakers, click here.

“The symposium is intended to both highlight awareness for the research effort in pancreatic cancer and to present a platform for discussing collaborative research projects,” Dr. Hollingsworth said.
